After reading a story about Cameron’s companies, a Japanese company contacted him and invited him to Japan and to be an Advisory Board Member to FutureKids in Tokyo. He was invited to Japan by the CEO of the company.
Continuing Cameron’s story, although he didn’t win the Junior Achievement Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, he did hire the 16 year old winner to work for him on his next Internet venture where together they created SurfingPrizes.com. Cameron recognized the inefficiencies in a similar business and quickly designed a more effective business concept. The company’s product was online advertising that paid its customers to view ads they wanted to see online. This business became his most successful and from it he learned the power of improving on existing ideas.

Quickly Cameron began to receive international attention. The Japanese media blitz thrust his name into every Japanese household. It was not long before he was approached to have his biography written by a Japanese ghostwriter. The book was called, 15 Year Old CEO, and was published in Japan becoming an overnight best seller.

You Call The Shots is a book Cameron authored on learning how to succeed your way and living the life you want. In his book he divulges the 19 essential principles he lives by when creating his business ventures. It is these same principles that he developed over time that has accelerated his own success at such an early age. These principles are fundamental and apply to anyone starting or growing a business. I’ll share one of them here.

Principle #2: Start Small
If starting a new business, look for success in a business that requires minimal cash investment and has the ability to generate a strong word of mouth marketing. This will help to build your confidence and put you ahead of the game. Cameron repeatedly demonstrated the success of this principle beginning at the young age of 9 years old.

Most people fantasize about creating a successful business in order to live their dream life. But reality hits and they realize that they start to worry? How did entrepreneurs like Robert Kiyosaki or Oprah Winfrey become successful?

Successful entrepreneurs are visionaries. They are clear about what they want to accomplish and develop a strategy to achieve their goals.

The first step is to define what success looks like for you. If you haven’t identified what success looks like for you, how will you know when you’ve achieved it? Someone once said, “If you aim at nothing, you’ll get there.”

Take some time to reflect and ask yourself some important questions, like:

* Why did you start your business?
* What do you want to accomplish with it?
* What motivates you to continue building your business despite the challenges you face?
* Are you creating extra income for your children’s college education?
* Do you want to spend more time with your family?
* Are you tired of working for someone else?
* Do you want to travel to exotic places?

Then define what success would look like for you. Be very specific. How much money will you make? Where will you be living?

Would you be giving to charities? Who would benefit from your wealth? Imagine yourself in your new home. Visualize yourself making a larger contribution to the charities of your choice.

Imagine yourself going on your dream trip. Where would you go? Who would travel with you? What would you do? What would you see? How would you feel to arrive there after dreaming about it for so long?

Imagine working from home and having the freedom to spend more time with your family. What would that feel like? How would the relationship with your children and/or spouse be affected? What would you do differently? Would you go on more vacations? Plan more fun activities with your children?

Write out the vision of your successful business in vivid, descriptive language. State exactly what you will be doing and with whom. Describe how your business success leads to improved relationships with your spouse and/or children. Include references to the charities or individuals who will benefit from your wealth.

Keep a copy of this masterpiece by your bed. Read it every night, before going to bed, experiencing the accompanied emotions. The key to becoming a visionary is to stay connected to the feelings that your vision evokes. Imagine how you will feel when the reality unfolds.

Every day spend time visualizing your business success. As you become very clear about your vision of success, the solutions to your challenges will unfold. You don’t have to try and figure it out by yourself. God will guide you to the answers to your problems! You are not alone.

Christian entrepreneur is not a very common or accepted term among Christians. You see most Christians have a wrong notion about business. Business as it is today has gained a bad reputation because of many unscrupulous businessmen. Most business today is focused on profits and greed is the motive.

Greed can get the best of you if you do not watch it. Greed is so deceptive it can creep up unannounced on real Christians as well. That is why we threw the baby out with the bath water long time ago in our churches.

But the pathetic syndrome is we go crawling on our knees to businessmen for donations for our ministries. See how inconsistent our attitude is. We abhor business men but crawl to them for money. Many missions and church ministries are supported largely by Christian entrepreneurs, trusts, funds and donations of businesses.

So in this world of greed and illegal business practices how can you as a Christian stand up and do business and make decent money? The bible is not against business but against sinful business practices. The bible says that unethical, illegal and deceptive business practices are frowned upon by God. But he blesses a righteous business man.

You do not have to engage in sinful business habits to make money. God can help you succeed in business with godly principles and practices. As a Christian entrepreneur you need to get involved in the world to be a light and salt to this earth. We should not hide behind our pious holy attitude and stay in a job.

Be brave and get out of hiding and start your own business ventures. There are plenty available today online on the web. There is work at home opportunities that do not demand huge sums of capital or equipment. Most can be started with just a computer and an internet connection.

There are also free training courses if you are new to learn. To be a Christian entrepreneur you can start in your spare time. When you are successful you can go full time. It is not difficult to earn as much or more as you made in a job. As an employee you make money for some one else with your abilities and talents.

Imagine doing the same for yourself and for the kingdom of God. You can be a Christian entrepreneur and show the world how you multiplied the talents God gave you. You will be in a position to give. Only when you make money more than what you need can you give to others in need and missions.

In order to be a Christian entrepreneur you do not need any special calling or talents. All you need is the recognition that God made you special and gave you talents. He said to Adam to take care of the earth, be fruitful and multiply.

Remember you cannot take care of the earth, fruitful and especially multiply when you work as an employee for some one else all the days of your life. Get out of the rut from a job and get into you own business multiply and prosper. God will make you Christian entrepreneur and a blessing to many.
